Snapdragon 7 is officially released! Samsung 4nm

In addition to the new and upgraded Snapdragon 8+, Qualcomm is also bringing the first generation Snapdragon 7 mobile platform today.

This is also the first appearance of snapdragon 7 series platform after the update of snapdragon brand naming system, which is equivalent to the sinking of Snapdragon 8.

Snapdragon 7 makes three firsts in the series:

First, introduce the 7th generation Qualcomm AI engine for the first time.

Taking face recognition as an example, the detection accuracy of Snapdragon 7 has improved by 23% compared with the previous generation of Snapdragon 778G, and the recognition area is reduced from 25×25 pixels to 20×20 pixels. It can detect up to 300 facial feature points, and can extract expressions such as eyelashes, nose, mouth and smile, fully reaching the level of Snapdragon 8.

In particular, it can detect that a picture is taken only when the eyes are open or smiling.

Second, for the first time, it supports 200 megapixel photography.

Snapdragon 7 integrates with three 14-bit ISPs, supports triple concurrency, single-frame line-by-line HDR, and has significantly better picture quality than snapdragon 778G.

Third, the qualcomm trust management engine is integrated for the first time.

The snapdragon 8 is android Ready SE certified and offers vault level security features.

For Gaming, Snapdragon 7 GPU renders more than 20% faster than Snapdragon 778G and supports some Snapdragon Elite Gaming features, including:

Adreno Image Motion engine: A gPU-based frame prediction technology that can save up to half the power consumption at the same frame rate, or provide higher frame rate at the same power consumption;

Game Quick Touch: Ensure the Game Touch response speed, more than 20% higher than snapdragon 778G;

VRS variable color rate: The color rate can be changed within a single frame to selectively reduce the level of detail in some areas of the picture, thereby improving performance with little noticeable impact on image quality.

In terms of display, Snapdragon 7 supports QHD+ display resolution, while Snapdragon 778G only supports FHD+.

In terms of audio, Snapdragon 7 supports Snapdragon Sound, which eliminates whistles and dynamically adjusts the volume based on the real-time audio environment and scene.

In terms of connectivity, the Snapdragon 7 integrates the 3GPP R16 standard Snapdragon X62 5G baseband and RF system for the first time, with a maximum downlink rate of 4.4Gbps, and supports 5G+5G dual-card dual-pass, while the Snapdragon 778G integrated Snapdragon X53 can only run up to 3.7Gbps.

The Wi-Fi connection is upgraded from the previous FastConnect 6700 to FastConnect 6900, with a top rate of 3.6Gbps from 3.0Gbps and lower latency, as well as Bluetooth 5.2 support.

In terms of core specifications, the Snapdragon 7 has been upgraded to Samsung's 4nm process (the same model as the Snapdragon 8), and the CPU architecture has been upgraded to include a supercore A710 2.40ghz, three large A710 2.36ghz, and four small A510 1.8ghz.
