Redmi K60 series may come with 30W wireless charging and dynamic island-like features
The Redmi K series is the company's flagship lineup and a highly affordable alternative to the Xiaomi Digital series. Considering the affordable pricing of the series, the Redmi K series tends to miss out on top features such as wireless charging and even water resistance ratings. However, this time the new Redmi series may get a high-end flagship feature, namely wireless charging. The famous leaker @DigitalGossipStation has revealed some key specs of the upcoming Redmi K series phone, possibly a model of the Redmi K60 series.
Also revealed was a feature for iPhone 14 - Dynamic Island. The feature is already available on Android phones in the form of an app, but will soon be available in native form. The Redmi K60 series phones are said to come with Snapdragon 8 series chipsets and two charging capabilities. 67W wired and 30W wireless, and another supposedly upgraded version with 120W wired and 30W wireless charging support.
Will there be a Dynamic Island on Redmi?
Launched along with the iPhone 14 series, "Dynamic Island" has become the hottest feature/function in recent times. It brings in a new design language along with added functionality. Android device makers are already looking to incorporate it into their flagships and Redmi could be the first. Dynamic Island is an interactive part on the phone that dynamically changes size based on content/environment. We're hearing that the Spirit Island feature may find its way into the Redmi K60 series.
The @digitalgossip site broke the news that the upcoming Redmi flagship series with Snapdragon 8 series phones will support 30W wireless charging. The phone in question may be the Redmi K60 series, but there's no confirmation yet. While 30W may not sound like a big deal, this is the first time the Redmi K series has received wireless charging support. While their exact model name is being kept under wraps at this stage, it should be a high-end version.
The high-end models in the Redmi K60 series could come with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 generation chipset, which is based on TSMC's 4nm process and is said to bring improvements over the current Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 models.
