Pictures of iPhone 14 Pro Max being assembled in India appear to be fake
A few days ago it was announced that Apple has started selling the iPhone 14 Pro Max "assembled in India" in China. The news started surfacing yesterday evening when a seemingly fake picture of a Chinese retail box for the iPhone 14 Pro Max made the rounds. The Chinese retail box said "assembled in India," which led to confusion. However, a senior Apple technical advisor told Tech Innovation News, "From the contents of the picture, it appears that the parts needed for the iPhone are made in China and assembled in India." This means that the iPhone 14 Pro Max is still made in China.
Back in September 2022, Apple confirmed that it was manufacturing iPhones in India and that the devices would be exported to other countries with the "Made in India" label. However, the brand never mentioned making the high-end iPhone 14 Pro Max in India, which happened to be the news of the day. However, Apple does not make the high-end iPhone 14 series models in India.
Recall that Apple started making the iPhone SE in India back in India, and since then it has been making models like the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 series units. This time, it is only making the iPhone 14 in India along with China. however, this obviously does not apply to the high-end iPhone 14 Pro Max units.
